Scott Holloway

Investment Manager
Salisbury

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

People, numbers, and investment attracted me to career in Wealth Management. After completing a Psychology degree, I began my career at a leading City of London Investment Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort.

With a keen interest in behavioural science and its impact upon investment, my first role included modelling recent events, assessing trends and investment outcome. After completing the relevant industry exams, I soon qualified as an investment manager and became a member of the investment strategy team.

Keen to deepen my knowledge, I spent the next five or so years supporting a life insurance company on how to best invest their own monies, hedge against risks and became responsible for one of UK's largest with-profits funds.

Yearning for greater client interaction, I joined Quilter Cheviot in 2018, and since then I have enjoyed building long-lasting relationships with generations of families, business owners and their intermediaries.

Overtime, I have been recognised as a top performing investor and I am proud to have worked with some of the industry's leading people.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

My goal is to ensure every client makes informed decisions, driven by a clear understanding of how this might affect their long-term financial position. I work towards this by tailoring my approach to the individual needs of each client, depending on their financial goals and risk appetite. Clients are at the heart of our business and my clients know that their investment portfolios are taken care of with the highest qualitative standards, backed by extensive research, industry insights and the maximum level of consideration.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work and keen to decompress from the pressures of the role, I like to get outdoors and often spend weekends in between the Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire countryside. I train regularly, recently developed a golfing interest, and plan to climb Snowden again this year. I also like to keep an eye out for my beloved Arsenal FC and can be found watching them with an Italian beer in hand.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
