Oliver Harwood

Investment Director

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

The industry captivated me from an early age with a keen interest in stock markets and investing. My career started over 12 years ago and I joined Quilter Cheviot in 2017, the same year I was listed in the Citywire Wealth Manager Top 30 Under 30 list recognising the rising stars of the wealth management industry in the UK. I was previously the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Quilter Cheviot AIM Strategy in London before relocating to our Jersey office in 2021.

I am a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (FCSI) holding the CISI Diploma in Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM) and the CISI Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ).

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

My primary role at Quilter Cheviot involves managing discretionary portfolios for a diverse range of clients, including private clients, trusts, charities, and institutional clients based in Jersey, the Middle East, the Isle of Man and Switzerland.

I believe in building strong, client-centred relationships and I strive to provide a highly personalised service to each client with open and regular communication. My goal is to provide a tailored portfolio designed to match each client's individual goals and circumstances. I want to ensure that my clients investment journey is seamless and transparent.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones and have a passion for sports. After injuries curtailed my participation in rugby and boxing my time is spent unsuccessfully trying to reduce my golf handicap. I also closely follow the fortunes (or misfortunes in recent times) of Manchester United.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
