Myles Tunstall

Investment Manager
Liverpool

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I embarked upon my wealth management journey in 2006 with Tilney Investment Management, later acquired by Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management. In 2011 I joined a number of fellow investment managers in establishing the Liverpool office of Cheviot Asset Management. Cheviot subsequently merged with Quilter Investment Management in January 2013 and was rebranded as Quilter Cheviot. I have over 15 years’ private client investment experience and, as an Investment Director, I am responsible for managing portfolios on behalf of individuals, trusts and pension funds. My role includes creating and implementing portfolios using a diverse range of asset classes including fixed interest, UK and international equities, and alternative assets, such as hedge funds, infrastructure, commodities and property.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

I believe personal service and regular engagement with clients is a key element of my role. This provides me with a solid understanding of their requirements, which in turn enables me to align portfolios with their evolving needs. Close collaboration with financial advisers provides a comprehensive framework, ensuring I have all the necessary information to deliver proper, considered investment management which is suitable for the clients’ needs.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside office life I have a busy family schedule, with 3 young children. But when I do get the chance (which feels like a rare event these days!) I enjoy a round of golf with friends or getting out on my bike in the fresh air.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
