Jonathan Raymond

Investment Manager
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My journey into wealth management was fuelled by a desire to apply my extensive financial expertise to benefit clients. After joining Quilter Cheviot in 2013, I brought nearly two decades of investment experience, having previously worked in a large private bank and a startup wealth management firm. My qualifications, including a Master's Degree in Economics and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, have equipped me for this role.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

As an investment manager, my role revolves around ensuring that client portfolios align with their objectives. I pride myself on providing high-quality service and timely communication to instil confidence in clients, particularly during periods of market volatility, which can be unsettling. I work with a broad range of clients and their advisers, constructing and managing portfolios to achieve consistent outcomes. This personal approach and commitment to client success is at the core of my work.

What are your interests outside of work?

Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm married with two young children, which takes up a lot of my free time. Originally from a Welsh farming family, I often return to the farm to keep my hand in. I'm enthusiastic about sports, particularly rugby and golf. I also have a keen interest in economics, politics, and current affairs. These interests not only offer a balanced perspective but also provide opportunities to engage with the broader world outside of work.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
