Emma Grant

Investment Manager
Edinburgh

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

My interest in markets and wealth management developed initially through studying Economics at University and subsequently I joined the industry working for an institutional investment management firm, Franklin Templeton. During this time, I realised I wanted to focus more on working with underlying clients, helping them to achieve their objectives, and therefore I looked for an opportunity to move into private client discretionary investment management. After gaining experience working for a couple of other firms, I joined Quilter Cheviot in 2016 and was supported in obtaining the CISI Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

My primary focus in my role as investment manager is delivering a high level of personalised service to clients. I tailor individual client portfolios to meet their specific requirements and look to build clients’ trust through engaging with them on a regular basis, ensuring that their portfolio remains aligned to their objectives and any changes in their circumstances.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy being active and spending time in the outdoors either walking, cycling or skiing.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
