What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I enjoy the problem-solving nature of this role and working alongside financial advisers to give clients peace of mind. It is a measured, steady approach built on trust. Wealth Management offered the opportunity to combine my passionate interest in economics, markets and investing in companies, with the satisfaction of building long term relationships.

After leaving university, I began my financial services career as a ‘sales-trader’. I went on to study for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) diploma and, upon successful completion,  became a discretionary fund manager with Brewin Dolphin. As a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, I have been working with my clients at Quilter Cheviot since 2013.

What would you like to achieve for clients?

I am devoted to providing the highest standards of service to our clients. My aim is to establish strong relationships with clients and their advisers by listening and understanding what matters to them.

My primary role is to work with my clients, and their advisers, to successfully implement and manage truly bespoke investment solutions. I recognise that successful strategies reflect the unique requirements and needs of my clients; I work to ensure that the end investment solution is tailored and flexible while making the most of Quilter Cheviot’s award winning investment capability and performance.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy skiing, gardening, literature, walks and pub lunches in the countryside in addition to generally keeping fit.

My passions are my family and sailing. I’ve sailed since I was a child and it’s not lost on me that Leicestershire isn’t the best location from which to base this pastime! However, sailing provides me with a constant challenge. There’s always a new approach or skill to be learnt. Ever changing conditions require precise planning and the execution of successful, safe, navigation is immensely satisfying. With the recent history of volatile global economics and markets, I’ve often been reminded of a quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt – “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor”.
