What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

Through over two decades of experience in the wealth management industry, I have  cultivated a deep passion for financial markets and investing. My journey began with a BA (Hons) in Commerce from Napier University and evolved through to various senior investment roles at firms including Cornelian Asset Managers (now part of Brooks Macdonald) and Speirs & Jeffrey (taken over by Rathbones in 2018).   I am a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (MCSI). I also hold the ASIP qualification and am a Member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society (CFA) UK.   Having joined Quilter Cheviot in 2022, I provide bespoke investment solutions for high net worth individuals, trusts, charities, and corporates including Family Investment Companies (FICs), aligning closely with their long term investment objectives and risk profiles.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

My role at Quilter Cheviot revolves around the personalised management of discretionary portfolios for a diverse clientele, including individuals, trusts, charities, and corporates. It is a role I deeply enjoy, collaborating closely with accountants, IFAs, and solicitors to deliver an excellent overall client experience. I believe in understanding clients' investment goals thoroughly and construct portfolios tailored to meet their expectations. Open and regular communication, both with clients and their advisors, is essential to achieve this.

What are your interests outside of work?

Beyond my professional interests in the financial world, I am an avid sports enthusiast, and particularly fond of rugby.  I also enjoy big game fishing when possible.  I would like to learn kitesurfing and flying a Cessna aircraft.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
