Andrew Gilbert

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I began my career at Capita Life & Pensions working as a Pensions administrator over holidays whilst studying for my BSc Honours degree in Economics at the University of York from 2007-2010. 

I joined Parmenion in November 2010 where I worked studiously for 10 years in fund research, asset allocation, risk profiling, trading, marketing and relationship management.  During this role I was promoted to Senior Investment Manager, I was responsible for managing circa £3.5bn in assets under management.

In September 2021 I followed my passion to move into Wealth Management and joined Quilter Cheviot so I had the opportunity to build deep and long-lasting relationships with the retail, charity and corporate clients

How do you work with / look after clients?

My goal is to have a close relationship and a detailed understanding of every client’s unique circumstances, financial objectives and ethical values, both at inception but also on an ongoing basis throughout all of the various and significant challenges that we encounter in our lives.

I feel a deep sense of personal responsibility for every client and I tailor my communication and approach (with any financial adviser or professional involved) to their specific needs depending on their understanding, circumstances and financial goals.  Clients are the heart of our business and my clients know that their investment portfolios are carefully monitored and researched based on extensive empirical research and industry insights with the highest levels of due diligence, portfolio management and service.     

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work I am always to keen to venture outdoors and you can often find me at the beach with my wife of 13 years and my wonderful family of four young children and two Labradors. 

I’m an avid wild swimmer (our whole family have wetsuits) and we enjoy long walks across the Scottish and Northumberland coastline.
