What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
If I had to pick one element that attracted me to wealth management, it would be meeting new people and building life long personal relationships. After travelling the world and spending 3 years as a personal trainer, I wanted to help people make informed decisions that will affect their long-term financial position. They say ‘you can’t live without your health and wealth’ and I’ve had experience in both.
I’ve always had a love for meeting new people so after hearing of the Quilter Financial Adviser School, I thought Wealth Management was an exciting avenue for myself. I am now a Chartered Financial Adviser, I’ve spent 7 years at Quilter working as an admin, a paraplanner (report writer) and now an adviser with specialised qualifications in Defined Benefit transfers, Long Term Care and Equity Release.
What would ypou like to achieve for clients?
My main priority is to help clients reach their goals by putting in place holistic financial plans and investment strategies. I believe the only way to thrive as a financial planner is to build transparent and trustworthy relationships. Financial advice is about more than investment returns and I believe putting together a holistic cashflow & investment plan will aid further in achieving clients’ main aims. I enjoy helping turn a complicated investment world more transparent for clients where small changes can have a dramatic impact on the outcome. Each client situation is different, so I enjoy fitting the different tax wrappers, allowances, and investment strategies around them to earn greater returns in a more tax efficient way.
What are you passionate about in life?
Outside of work, besides friends and family I have a passion for sport, travelling and helping the dog find every local puddle! I have run 10km events in Manchester, London & Liverpool. Fortunately, I am a member of the MCC and have had the chance to fulfil my two passions by playing cricket all around the globe including Australia, India & Sri Lanka. Now I enjoy coaching/helping my local club throughout the summer. My friends will tell you I love to travel and look forward to planning my trips each year. My favourite trip was travelling around Australia by myself as an 18-year-old and that experience has put me in good stead from an early age.
