Carly Moorhouse

Fund Research Analyst
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I initially pursued a career in financial services, working as a Banking Consultant at Mazars LLP for two and a half years. Shortly after completing CFA Level 1 I moved internally to Mazars Financial Planning to become an Invesment Analyst covering UK, Japan, emerging markets, and Asia equity funds. In 2018 I joined Quilter Cheviot's Fund Research team to focus on the selection and ongoing due diligence of Asian and Emerging Market equity funds. Since then my remit has broadened to include US equity funds.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

I contribute to Quilter Cheviot's mission of delivering tailored solutions to our clients. My role involves identifying new investment opportunities and monitoring existing ones, with a focus on US, Asian and Emerging Market equity funds. This entails thorough analysis of the risks associated with the portfolio, the investment process, and the team behind it through face-to-face meetings and in-depth desk research.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of the office, I'm an avid traveller. I grew up in Asia so I have always loved experiencing different cultures. I enjoy long walks with my dog, reading, and watching horror films.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
