Tim Healy

Executive Director
London

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

Having studied Economics at University in Edinburgh I joined the London branch of a Swiss private bank, Julius Baer, in 1987. Following my time with Julius Baer I spent a few years with Merrill Lynch, setting up and managing my own discretionary management business and then Thesis. The increase in regulation and my desire to work within a structured and well resourced investment research process led me to joining Quilter Cheviot in 2008. I joined to develop relationships with financial advisers, solicitors and accountants and to build a client base. Many of my clients have been introduced through this network of professionals. I head up one of the London based investment management teams which includes the stockbroking desk.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

I manage a wide range of private client portfolios, including Corporation of Lloyds portfolios, SIPPs and other pension structures, offshore bonds, trusts and a number of small charities.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am married with three grown up children. My wife, apart from when she is looking after me (!), spends much of her time either as a volunteer driver or as an exam invigilator. Our daughter works for the LSE, our eldest son rides and trains national hunt racehorses and our youngest son is in his last year at Edinburgh University reading politics. I am a horse racing enthusiast and keen golfer and am never happier at the Weekends than having spent a morning playing golf, then watching racing and hearing that Arsenal have won their game of football.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
