Trainee Investment Manager

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

If I had to choose one element that attracted me to Investment Management, it would be pursuing a rewarding career which allowed me to help people reach their financial goals. After completing my master’s degree at Heriot Watt university, while I believed my prospects were quite broad, I was unsure what path to take. Making a difference and achieving a sense of purpose was important to me and I explored various options, leading me to my initial role as a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley. From that first role to my current role as a Trainee Investment Manager I have realised that working with clients and helping to make a positive impact is my primary motivation.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

I started with Quilter Cheviot in 2021 and my main role is to support the Investment Managers within my team to ensure the upmost service for clients. This involves helping to manage client portfolios and providing clients with another point of access to aid with any queries or to offer assistance. My main priority is to ensure a seamless service for clients, whilst helping the investment managers to ensure the highest possible client satisfaction. I pride myself in my ability to provide a friendly and helpful service which in turn, helps the Investment Managers to work with clients to enable them to reach their financial goals.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, besides spending quality time with my friends and family, I love travelling. My favourite trip so far was my recent holiday to South America where I visited Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica where I was lucky enough to experience the different cultures and explore the different environments which was filled with wildlife. I am also a fan of Rugby and love to go to matches or other sporting events in my downtime. I also have a few family members who live abroad so I try to visit and spend time with them whenever possible and attend local events.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
