Neil Anderson
Investment Manager
Manchester
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
Whilst studying for my Accounting and Finance degree at Leeds University, part of the course focussed on capital markets and really sparked my interest. After leaving university I took a job with an execution only stockbroker then studied for my professional exams with the CISI, obtaining the Masters in Wealth Management qualification. I moved to my current role as Investment Manager with Quilter Cheviot in 2019 following similar roles at Brewin Dolphin and Close Brothers and am coming up to 20 years in the industry. I am also one of Quilter Cheviot’s responsible investment champions, an area of interest to me personally.
What would you like to achieve for clients?
Every client is different in terms of circumstances and goals and I like to take the time to understand these. Whilst financial markets can be uncertain, the one thing I can control at all times is the service my clients receive, and I like to speak with them as often as possible. I enjoy working with financial advisers and accountants, in order to give a full holistic service to clients, often involving several generations of families. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is building trusted relationships with clients and seeing the real difference we can make with their lives.
What are your interests outside of work?
I like to keep active and regularly train in the gym, along with tennis and golf in the summer. I have competed in several 10km running races and am looking to move up to half marathons. Whilst my playing days are behind me, I’m a keen follower of football. I enjoy travelling and have been lucky enough to visit many parts of the world and experience different cultures.
