Matthew Dawson

Investment Manager
Bristol

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I have always been very interested in the financial markets and was keen to get into the wealth management industry after earning a Mathematics BSc (Honours) degree from Royal Holloway, University of London.  I held administrative positions at Curtis Banks and Quilter Cheviot before completing the level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager exams and becoming a fully qualified investment manager.  I believe my solid grasp of numbers and analytical skills, in addition to my friendly nature, are strong attributes that allow me to help my clients navigate the complexities of the financial world and achieve their investment goals.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

I provide a personalised approach that is tailored to my clients’ individual needs and enjoy building relationships with them and keeping them well-informed on the progress of their investments.  I am very organised and actively monitor the news and markets on my clients’ behalf, seeking to identify and assess potential threats and opportunities.

What are your interests outside of work?

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy watching all sports and am an active member of a local hockey team, unwinding with competitive matches most Saturdays. These days much of the weekend often revolves around family plans, but I always make sure to find time to read my weekly copy of the Economist.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
