What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

After earning my Chartered Accountant qualification at Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG), I honed my expertise in corporate finance. This path eventually led me to management roles in private client investment management. With extensive experience as the Chief Executive of firms like Smith & Williamson (now Evelyn Partners) and EFG Private Bank, I developed a deep appreciation for the intricacies of wealth management, making it a natural choice for my career.

How do you look after clients?

Over my career, my roles have centred on overseeing client relationships and guiding them toward their financial goals. Whether as Chief Executive or Director, my focus has always been client centric. I've strived to provide tailored, personalized service, recognizing that each client has unique needs and expectations. Regular communication and close collaboration are my key tools to help clients navigate their financial journeys.

What are your interests outside of work?

Professionally, I hold various leadership roles and trusteeships, contributing to financial and cultural endeavours. Personally, I have a passion for cultural preservation and serve as Chairperson for the Restoration and Development Trust and the Music Endowment Trust of Chichester Cathedral. I also find solace in outdoor pursuits, such as hiking and camping, which allow me to appreciate the natural world and maintain a balanced, active lifestyle.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
