What attracted you to a career in wealth management?

I started in the wealth management industry in 2002 when I joined Laing & Cruickshank Investment Management, which later became part of UBS Wealth Management. In 2006, I became a founding member of Cheviot. During my tenure at Quilter Cheviot, I have worked as an Investment Manager as well as sitting on several committees, including our International Stock Selection Committee.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?

As an Investment Manager, my role involves managing a diverse range of discretionary multi-asset investment portfolios, catering to individuals, trusts, charities, and pension funds. I feel it is crucial to have strong relationships with my clients and in many cases manage multiple generations of a family.  I have had the privilege of doing this for many years and I prioritise this highly personalised approach. It is through this approach that enables me to tailor each portfolio to meet the specific needs and expectations of my clients, ensuring that their long-term financial goals are achieved. Effective communication, both in writing and face-to-face meetings, is my key to understanding their evolving objectives and delivering a service that is truly client centric.

The value of your investments and the income from them can fall and you may not recover what you invested.
