Megan Rimmer (APFS)
Chartered Financial Planner
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
Whilst completing my philosophy degree at the University of London, I completed work experience at an advice firm in Manchester and really liked the two-sided element of the role. On one hand, you have to have a high level of technical knowledge but on the other, you need to be personal, relatable and empathetic. These two aspects appealed to me instantly as they cater to my passion for learning and my desire to really help clients.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
As a chartered financial planner, I pride myself on delivering excellent service to all my clients. This is achieved by the personal relationships I forge with the complete family ensuring all their financial needs are met both now and in the future.
I add value in all aspects of financial planning and am passionate about inheritance tax planning for the family to ensure wealth preservation. I appreciate trust is the foundation of an excellent Client-Planner relationship and this is the cornerstone of my success to date.
I am a pension transfer specialist allowing me to advise on more complex pension matters as well as a STEP affiliate having completed the trust and estate planning qualification.
What are your interests outside of work?
Beyond financial services, I value staying active, whether in the gym or playing hockey. On a weekend you will most likely find me reading a book with a cup of Yorkshire Tea in hand.
