James Jackson DipFA
Financial Planner
Leeds office
What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
I have worked in and around financial services for a number of years, initially in recruitment, where I worked with financial planners and other professionals to place them with leading advice businesses. During this period, i quickly realised that I saw a future as an adviser myself, so I went out and studied for the Diploma for Financial Advisers, sometime revising for exams on the bus to work. Fast forward some years later and I am able to apply that same passion for helping people to an incredible rewarding career in Wealth Management.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
I Feel that my approach is very people based in that I try to understand my clients’ motivations and goals in depth, as well as their background and understanding of their finances. This makes coming up with a financial plan much easier as I am able to tailor all of my work for them, to their specific circumstances. There is no “one size fits all”.
What are your interests outside of work?
Beyond my professional interests, I have a strong interest in music and try to play and attend gigs as much as I am able. I am also a Rugby and Football fan and can often be found at Harrogate Town FC, watching our local team.
I have a Wife and 2 children who take up the rest of my time and I try to spend as many weekends as i can in the Yorkshire countryside, exploring with the family.
