Cameron McNeill
Financial Planner

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
Following studies at the University of St Andrews, I sought a career that would allow me to employ my interpersonal and analytical skills alongside the challenge of problem solving.
I explored several opportunities, from real estate to medical robotics, before landing on wealth management. With Quilter Cheviot, I found the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships and design bespoke planning solutions.
More importantly, financial planning provides an ongoing opportunity to affect positive change in clients’ lives by maximising their wealth’s potential, positively impacting their financial success, and ensuring their ability to live life purposefully. These are the factors that motivate me to produce excellent client outcomes.
How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
What I seek to achieve for clients is two-fold:
Firstly, in finance where jargon is commonplace and circumstances are changeable and complex, I provide clients with peace of mind. Simplifying solutions and proactively monitoring plans is fundamental to my approach and provides reassurance to clients.
Secondly, I look to build communicative, open and positive relationships with my clients. In my view, this is the fundamental foundation for any successful financial plan. I pride myself on recommendations tailored to clients’ specific objectives and my priority is to ensure my clients are confident and comfortable in their finances.
These objectives are underpinned by my view that wealth should be utilised as a means to an end, rather than as an end in and of itself.
What are your interests outside of work?
When I am not working, I enjoy organising social events as well as playing and watching sports. I also enjoy exploring London’s vibrant food and cultural scenes. Ultimately, I am happiest when spending time with the important people in my life.
